Lifelites is delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted in the Third Sector Business Charity Awards for our ongoing partnership with BMJ, the global medical knowledge provider and publisher of The BMJ (British Medical Journal).
The awards highlight the excellent work being done through a number of different innovative charity partnerships across the UK, and we are honoured to be considered alongside many other well-known charities and their corporate partners.
BMJ is a global medical knowledge provider that started out as a single medical journal 179 years ago. Apart from The BMJ (British Medical Journal), BMJ publishes over 70 specialty journals. They also offer learning and clinical decision support tools to help health professionals improve patient outcomes.
Lifelites has been working with BMJ since 2017, when their staff voted for Lifelites as one of two chosen charities to support. As well as fundraising with an exciting calendar of staff organised activities, BMJ also encourages its staff to volunteer for the charity. The company’s employees have used their vast areas of expertise to support Lifelites in a variety of ways: digital marketing, branding, training resources, recruitment, database work, management training and fundraising. The provision of the free events space at BMJ offices has also helped to ensure that more of the funds raised at Lifelites can be spent directly on the children we support.
This support has been invaluable to Lifelites and has given us the confidence to develop other areas of our work to ensure we are providing the best possible service for life-limited and disabled children in hospices.
BMJ Chief Executive Officer, Peter Ashman said: “Working with Lifelites has given our BMJ staff the opportunity to make a real positive impact on the lives of children in hospices. As a values driven company with a vision for “a healthier world”, inspiring colleagues to take part in (fun!) activities to raise vital funds and to share their skills is very much part of our working culture. We’re delighted to be shortlisted in the Third Sector Business Charity Awards and are all looking forward to continue working with Lifelites.”
Lifelites Chief Executive, Simone Enefer-Doy said: “We are incredibly grateful to the company and all the staff at BMJ for providing such wonderful support over the past couple of years. As well as helping to raise crucial funds for the life-limited and disabled children we support, they have provided useful skills training. This is invaluable for such a small charity like Lifelites, as we simply wouldn’t be able to afford to buy in this level of professional support. We are delighted that our partners and friends at BMJ have been recognised by Third Sector for their efforts and hope to continue our relationship with BMJ for many years to come!”
