By supporting Lifelites with a gift in your Will you are helping to change children’s lives, empowering them to play, create and communicate, and giving families unforgettable moments of connection and joy through the power of assistive technology.
Leave the Gift of Childhood in your Will
Lifelites exists to create a world of inclusion, happiness and fun for all children and young people with life-limiting conditions and complex disabilities.
By remembering Lifelites in your Will, you can help thousands of children to interact with the people they love, and engage with the world they live in.
A gift in your Will today can create a future where every child with a life-limiting condition, along with their families, can experience unforgettable connection and joy no matter the challenges they face or the short time they have together.
As technology advances, your gift will ensure children with complex conditions continue to benefit from the very latest innovations and tech breakthroughs.
Your pledge can help create a world of fun, inclusion and happiness for every child and young person with a life-limiting condition. Having an up-to-date Will also makes sure your wishes are made clear and that your loved ones are looked after when you’re gone.
A gift in your will can be the most significant donation you ever make. For former Trustee Paul Withams, remembering Lifelites is a way to make a positive, lasting impact on the world.

Whilst not a legal requirement, having a professionally written and up to date Will is the only way for you to decide what happens to your property, money, and personal possessions after you die. Above all, it puts you in control and ensures that your wishes are respected.
It is advisable to use a solicitor to write your Will. This will ensure your Will is legal and that your wishes Will be carried out. If you don’t have a solicitor, you can find one in your area by contacting the Law Society. Alternatively, you can write your Will free of charge with our trusted Will-writing partners, Octopus Legacy.
If you already have an up-to-date Will, you can add a codicil, which is a simple way to make specific changes or additions to your Will while leaving the remaining provisions untouched. If you are making significant changes to your Will, it may be better to create a new one, and include your gift to Lifelites.

There are three types of gift you can leave in your Will:
- A residuary gift: This is a share of your total estate (everything you own that is of value) after all debts, liabilities and other legacies have been paid. Residual legacies are particularly valuable to Lifelites because they keep pace with inflation. They are also useful for those leaving their residue behind as loved ones can be looked after first before considering charitable causes.
- A pecuniary gift: A pecuniary gift is a fixed amount of money that you leave in your Will.
- A specific gift :A specific gift is when you leave a particular item of value – such as personal possessions, property or shares.
No, if you leave a gift to Lifelites in your Will, its value will be deducted from your estate (your money, possessions and property) before Inheritance Tax is worked out. You can find out more online at https://www.gov.uk/inheritance-tax
No, every gift, regardless of size, helps makes a difference to children and families.
