Life Update: Baking, Eid Celebrations, and My New Accessible Room | Habibah’s Blog
Welcome back to the third installment of Habibah’s blog! Since her last update, life has been a whirlwind of challenges and celebrations. Here is what she has been up to in early 2026.
Recovery and Creative Days at Alexander Devine Hospice
Belated Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2026 has been kind to you so far. Mine didn’t quite start the way I had planned. Unfortunately, I had another hospital admission at the beginning of the year, which was a challenging time for me. However, I’m happy to say that I’m now feeling much better and back at home, focusing on recovery and getting back into my routine.
I’m still attending Alexander Devine Hospice, which continues to be such a special place for me. I’ve been spending time there baking and also enjoying using my Switch, which has been a great way to relax and have fun.

Baking Adventures: From Truffles to the Viral Crunch Cake
Since my last blog, I’ve been very busy in the kitchen! I’ve baked all sorts of treats including different flavoured cakes truffles, the viral crunch cake, cupcakes, and even birthday cakes for my family. Baking has been such a creative outlet for me and something I really enjoy sharing with others.

Family Memories: Celebrating Eid and My AS Level Studies
Now that the weather is improving, I’m really looking forward to getting out more, enjoying the sunshine, and spending time with my friends and family. Recently, I also celebrated Eid, which was such a lovely and meaningful time. My uncle came all the way from Pakistan to visit and it made the celebration even more special. We had a wonderful time together, creating memories I’ll always cherish.
Alongside everything else, I’ve been focusing on my studies as I have my AS level exams coming up. I’m currently taking Sociology and Psychology, and I really enjoy both subjects. I’m currently preparing and doing my best to stay on track, which is both exciting and a little nerve-wracking!
Home Update: Completing My Room Adaptations

There’s also been some exciting progress at home, my room adaptations and wet-room are finally nearing completion. I’m so excited to set up my new bedroom and make it my own. I can’t wait to share more updates and photos with you all in my next blog.
Thank you for continuing to follow my journey and for all your support it means so much to me.
Until next time,
Habibah 💜
