Music Legend Rick Wakeman launches winter appeal for Lifelites

Proud Freemason, music icon and Lifelites Patron Rick Wakeman has launched his annual fundraising appeal for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

Over the past 10 years, the appeal has seen the generosity of Freemasonry raise tens of thousands of pounds to purchase life-changing technology for some of the most vulnerable children across England.

Lifelites was created as a Millennium Project of the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys in 1999. For 25 years, our mission has been simple but profound — to empower children and young people with life-limiting conditions to live their best possible lives, and to help families share moments of joy in the often-short time they have together.

Lifelites is the only charity providing specialist assistive and sensory technology, training, and technical support to the entire children’s palliative care sector, including every children’s hospice in the UK and Ireland.

In that time, Lifelites has supported over 70 children’s hospices, reaching more than 165,000 children and young people, enabling them to play, create, and communicate in ways that would otherwise be impossible.

And Freemasonry has been a constant and generous supporter every step of the way.

Rick, IPM Chelsea Lodge No 3098, said, “More children than ever are living with life-limiting conditions and we at Lifelites are more determined than ever to reach more children and families in local communities.

Lifelites story may be 25 years old, but in truth it’s only just beginning. With technology advancing at lightning speed, there are limitless new possibilities to help children with complex disabilities live richer, fuller lives.

Together, Lifelites and Freemasonry can make that future brighter.”
