A Knockout Donation: Matchroom Foundation Backs Lifelites with £35,000 Boost

Lifelites has been honoured to receive ongoing support from the Matchroom Charitable Foundation. Recently, the foundation donated an incredible £35,000 donation to deliver assistive and sensory technology to four children’s hospices across the UK, along with a range of fantastic auction prizes.

The Foundation is the charitable arm of Matchroom Sport, the global sports promotion company led by Eddie Hearn, and includes the Professional Darts Corporation, Matchroom Boxing, World Snooker, and Matchroom MultiSport.

In 2024, Lifelites applied to the Foundation for vital funding to support our Lifelites 25 project. This ground-breaking programme will expand access to assistive technology for more children and families living with life-limiting conditions. Matchroom Foundation awarded us the funding, and we have already put it to good use at:

  • St Oswald’s Hospice, Newcastle
  • East Anglia Children’s Hospice, Norfolk
  • Charlton Farm, Somerset
  • Chestnut Tree House, West Sussex

Thanks to the Foundation’s generosity, Lifelites has delivered a wide range of life-changing technology. The packages include the revolutionary Eyegaze, award-winning Soundbeam, and versatile Sensory PODS tents. These tools give children with limited mobility or communication the ability to play, create, and connect with their loved ones.

The donation also supports Lifelites’ training and technical services. This is how we ensure our partners feel confident in using the equipment to provide the greatest benefit to children and young people.

In addition, the Foundation has donated unique auction prizes. These include executive experiences at sporting events and a pair of signed Conor Benn boxing gloves. This will help us raise even more vital funds.

A spokesperson for the Matchroom Charitable Foundation said:

“We are delighted to support Lifelites and the incredible work they do to bring joy, connection and opportunities to children with life-limiting conditions. The assistive and sensory technology they provide ensures children can play, communicate, and connect with those they love.”

Simon Pitts, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Lifelites, added:

“We are hugely grateful to the Matchroom Foundation for their support. This donation has already helped us deliver opportunities to hundreds of children and young people that would otherwise not be possible. Their continued generosity is helping us expand our reach and create a world of inclusion, accessibility and fun for all children.”
