David Leighton is Chief Executive of Aviation Services UK, the trade association representing the ground service providers who handle around 80% of flights to and from the UK. He is also founder and director of Front Street Consulting, a strategic advisory firm working with clients across numerous sectors including automotive, logistics, maritime and infrastructure.
In 2025, David established the Aviation Heroes Awards to celebrate the achievements of frontline employees who work in ground services, a sector whose critical role in keeping the UK flying is too often overlooked.
David chose Lifelites as ASUK’s charity partner after a chance encounter introduced him to the charity’s work, an encounter that left an enduring impression of the positive impact Lifelites has on children and young people’s lives.
Thanks to ASUK members and partners, who have donated prizes ranging from free flights to Coldplay tickets, and the generosity of everyone who attends, the awards have raised thousands of pounds for Lifelites.
