At Ysgol y Deri, we provide a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with a wide range of additional learning needs including profound and multiple learning difficulties, autism, complex medical needs and significant communication challenges. Pupils from across the school, aged 3-19 will benefit directly from this project.

Our Every Learner’s Orchestra (ELO) removes barriers to music-making through assistive technology, ensuring every child can participate as a musician. With Lifelites support for Soundbeam, COSMO, Oddballs, iPads, Mini Magic Carpet and EyeGaze systems, pupils will create music through movement, touch or eye control, making meaningful choices and contributing to group performances.

This technology will strengthen communication, independence and social interaction while building confidence and pride through shared musical achievement. Through rehearsals and performances for families and the wider community, every learner will experience the joy, inclusion and celebration that music makes possible.
