The Redway School

Project Summary

At The Redway School, we support children and young people aged 2–19 with complex medical, physical and communication needs. Many pupils have degenerative or life-limiting conditions, and for some, eye movement is their most reliable way to access the world.

Our pupils face barriers to learning, controlling their environment, making connections, leaving them isolated and unable to communicate. Assistive technology helps overcome these barriers. The Lifelites support through EyeGaze systems, switches, interactive entertainment hub and Soundbeam will give pupils a voice and improve access to education, their environment and play opportunities with family and peers; increasing their wellbeing and sense of joy.

Guided by our specialist therapy team, this technology will be used daily and embedded into the school day. Pupils will build skills and confidence, progressing towards funding for personal devices and lifelong accessibility. Most importantly, they can belong, believe and become the very best version of themselves.
