Boston Scientific Foundation Europe Supports Lifelites' Innovative New Partnership
We are delighted to announce that Boston Scientific Foundation Europe (BSFE) has awarded a grant to fund Lifelites’ new and innovative partnership with Cheshire-based The Joshua Tree Children’s Cancer Centre, which provides care and support to families across north west England and north Wales.
The Joshua Tree is the first children’s cancer service to be supported by Lifelites unique technology, training and support services and marks an important expansion of our rolling partnership programme.
Established in 2018, BSFE helps communities improve their health and well-being by supporting innovative digital health solutions delivered by European non-profit organisations.

The funding has enabled Lifelites to supply a full suite of technology, including a Magic Carpet, Entertainment Hub, Sensory PODS, Cosmo switch system and VR headsets, which will enable children to play and connect in fun and exciting ways far removed from the clinical interventions they regularly face.
“At Boston Scientific Foundation Europe, we believe in the power of innovation to transform lives. This project with Lifelites and The Joshua Tree embodies our mission to improve patient well-being through cutting-edge solutions” commented Simonetta Balbi, president, Boston Scientific Foundation Europe. “By supporting access to this technology, we are helping to create moments of joy, connection, and empowerment for children with cancer and their families. We are proud to stand alongside Lifelites in making a meaningful impact where it is needed most.”

The technology, training and support provided by Lifelites has already had a huge impact on the families and team at The Joshua Tree, as Family Support Worker, Claire Crawley, explained;
“The technology that arrived in our centre was nothing short of amazing. My favourite piece, Cosmo, truly stole the show — it’s a set of vibrant, light-up buttons that children can tap and interact with in countless ways. Whether it’s adjusting the speed, number, or spreading them around the room to encourage physical play, Cosmo brings joy and movement into every session. It’s incredibly adaptive and inclusive, meeting the unique needs of every child who comes through our doors.”
Lifelites Chief Executive, Rob Lightfoot, said, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Boston Scientific Foundation Europe and The Joshua Tree on this innovative partnership. By providing the latest sensory and assistive technology, together we can support children and families affected by childhood cancer, enabling them to connect, play and take time out from their treatments, which has been proven to improve health and wellbeing and long-term recovery.”
