From Champions to Marathoners: Jersey Freemasons Go the Extra Mile for Lifelites
On Sunday 5th October, the Jersey Freemasons once again went above and beyond for Lifelites. This time, they laced up their trainers for the 2025 Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon.

This incredible effort follows their decision earlier this year to become Provincial Champions for Lifelites. They pledged an extraordinary £60,000 to fund our life-changing assistive technology, training, and technical support for children in two hospice services on the island over the next four years. That commitment was already remarkable – but their dedication didn’t stop there.
Two relay teams proudly took on the marathon, with special admiration for James Rondel and blind runner, Sha Khan, who each completed the full 26.2 miles. Their challenge was immense, but their motivation was simple – to give more children in hospices the chance to laugh, play, and connect through Lifelites technology.

Together, the Jersey Freemasons smashed their target and so far, have raised an incredible £3,260. These funds will directly help children with life-limiting conditions to play, create, and communicate, often for the very first time. Their achievement is not just a feat of endurance, but a profound act of compassion for families facing the toughest of journeys.
And the support doesn’t stop here. James will return to the start line in April 2026, alongside Will Van Neste, to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Lifelites.
James has said:
“It was fantastic to be able to run the Jersey Marathon 2025 and to raise money for Lifelites. I’m overwhelmed by the response that we received from people and I think in a large part that was because of a recognition of how good a cause the work of Lifelites is. I am incredibly grateful to Lucy and the team for supplying the kit, and I look forward to raising money for Lifelites again in the future. It is such a fantastic charity and it has been a pleasure to do something small to help you in the amazing work that you do”.

We are deeply grateful for the unwavering dedication of the Jersey Freemasons, James, Sha, Will, and every individual who has chosen to run, step, or stand with us. Their determination is truly inspiring.
