Over the last couple of months, the Lifelites team have been travelling up and down the country delivering new packages of magical technology to children in hospices.
On our travels we meet some incredible staff and families, who give us wonderful feedback about our equipment and the impact that it has on children’s lives.
Here are just a few of the things we have heard over the last few weeks:
“The inclusive technology is brilliant, it gives the children an opportunity to be normal. When you give them the ability to control something for themselves, the world suddenly opens up to them and they do things that even we didn’t think possible. A lot of hospices just wouldn’t be able to do what we do with Lifelites.” Claire, Activities worker at Naomi House & Jacksplace.
“Seeing Lee use Eyegaze was very emotional. To be able to communicate and respond with Lee in this way allowed us to interact with him in a way that had not been possible before, in a way that we had not thought we would ever be able to do. It has allowed us to see a side of Lee that we were never sure was actually happening, it allowed our interaction to be two way. It was a very special moment for me as it let us discover his intelligence.” Parent at Rebecca House.
“Julia’s House is all about giving every child the chance to join in and have fun creating memories no matter what their physical limitations. This amazing technology is going transform the play time at the hospice and beyond in the community.” Heather, Lead Nurse at Julia’s House.
“The support and all the equipment we are receiving from Lifelites is unbelievable. We just wouldn’t be able to do this without them. All the adaptive and specialised electronic equipment they are providing really opens up a whole world the for the children and young people whom we support and allows them to have fun, communicate and express themselves in so many ways.” Catherine, Play Specialist at Alexander Devine.
