Lifelites spread its magic again delivering a brand new package of specialist technology for the children at Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospice in North Wales. This is the third time we have gone back to the hospice since they opened.
Members of the care team were all amazed by the cutting edge equipment that will empower the young people to play to communicate, be creative and to control something for themselves for as long as they have to live. One of the care staff members said: “The new equipment will make a huge difference for the children and young people. The care team are really excited and ready to use it all.
Their latest package includes Beamz which is an exciting interactive music system that allows anybody regardless of their physical or cognitive ability to experience the joy of creating music. When a user breaks the beam with their hand (or any part of their body!) they can make and record their own musical creations. More importantly it allows creative expression, empowerment, self-confidence and exploration for those whose lives are restricted by their conditions.
Evie, aged 6 was at the hospice with her dad and had a go at Eyegaze and enjoyed playing with the interactive cuddly toys. Her dad David said: “It's communications that's such an important thing for children, however small. These children can't tell you anything so it is vitally important they have the choices the equipment from Lifelites can give them.”
