This month we kicked off celebrations for both our 20th birthday and children's hospice week, while continuing to work hard to fundraise for this years projects. Our patron Sarah Ezekiel was featured in the Guardian and the Lifelites team opened its doors to the public.
Magical milestones
This month we celebrated Children's Hospice Week, the perfect opportunity to raise awareness of the magical services that support children receiving palliative care. This very special week just so happened to fall on another important date ...our 20th birthday! In keeping with the theme of this year's children's hospice week ' moments that matter', we decided that the perfect way to honour both events would be to share some of our very own magical moments with you. Magical fundraising
Following consultations with this years projects, we have finalised the hospices equipment wish lists. In order to donate all the items on the list, the Lifelites team will be busy fundraising. If you would like to donate please click here. With your help, it won’t be too long until we drop off a magical package of equipment to the children's hospice near you.
Magical patrons
Our awe inspiring patron Sarah Ezekiel shared her experience of living with motor neurone disease and the impact that Eyegaze technology has had on her life with the Guardian. Sarah explained how Eyegaze technology has allowed her to do ordinary things like write an email or change the tv channel, to the extraordinary such as creating art. Sarah teaches us that assistive technology can do more than help life-limited or disabled people to cope with their conditions, it can help them to thrive and follow their dreams. Magical Supporters
We held another successful open office where we invited our wonderful supporters to spend some time with the Lifelites team. Our guests enjoyed a cup of tea and a piece of cake, while playing with and learning about the magical equipment that we donate to all children's hospices in the British Isles. We had a great time and thank everyone who paid us a visit.
Magical Lift for Lifelites
As you know we took on the Lift for Lifelites challenge last month but what you probably don’t know is that the donations are still rolling in! This brings our total to £56,928.10 and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you to all our magical supporters, without you the Lifelites team wouldn't be able to provide all children's hospices across the British Isles with packages of life enhancing equipment, training and support.
Can you help Lifelites make 2020 a really special year for children in hospices?
