For the last 20 years, Lifelites has been donating bespoke packages of assistive technology to children in hospices across the British Isles, and this week we celebrated a very special milestone – our 200th donation!
The recipients of this special donation were the children using ellenor children’s hospice care service in Gravesend. We gave them one of the biggest packages we have ever donated, packed full of the latest specialist technology for the life-limited and disabled children they care for. This technology will give them opportunities they might not have otherwise had to play, be creative, control something for themselves and communicate, for as long as it is possible.
Simone Enefer-Doy, chief executive of Lifelites, said: “The technology we donate has changed quite considerably since our very first donation back in 1999. Back then the desktop PCs we donated were state of the art, but now we’re able to donate life-changing technology like Eyegaze, the Magic Carpet, and Virtual Reality. I could never have imagined we’d be where we are today and we’re so grateful to everyone who has helped us get her.”
Our 200th package contained the very first donation of our latest product – the Lifelites Tech Trunk. The Tech Trunk is an innovative solution for the increasing number of hospice at home services which deliver hospice care out in the community. You can read more here.
