Open Garden this weekend

Fri 6th Dec 2013

Ivor and Wendy Macklin are hosting an Open Garden in Hever, Kent. Set in the quaint surrounds of the Kent countryside and close to historic Hever castle, this colourful and herbaceous thatched cottage garden and orchard boast a Tudor Well and a variety of English roses.

The Macklin’s will donate all of the £3.50 admission to the children’s technology charity Lifelites. The charity plans to install a brand new package of specialist fun and educational technology at their local Lifelites project.

There will be light refreshments and plant sales from a variety of herbaceous plants and shrubs from a local nursery.

The 15th Century thatched cottage is said to be largely unchanged in the last 250 years and Parish records show that from the end of the eighteenth Century the house was home to a range of people, including a local witch.
