Thirteen brave (or foolish!) souls got up early last Saturday to jump off Tower Bridge in support of their local Lifelites projects. The question is: are you feeling brave enough to do the same?
The bungee cranes looked almost like cathedrals as their long, late-summer morning shadows cast off across the Thames and a gaggle of jumpers lined up like lemmings to take the plunge. With their friends and families offering moral support, adrenaline junkies from UBM and the Province of Essex had no time to think before they stepped over the edge to jump, fall and bounce for Lifelites.
Deri Jones, who attended the event on behalf of Lifelites, said, "We can't thank the jumpers enough. It's a fantasticaly courageous effort."
“I don’t know where we’d be without people like this. Their support is so important: they've raised at least £5000 so far and that figure is still rising . All of the money raised will go to work supporting children in hospices to learn and play with the award-winning Lifelites package.
“There’s more ways than ever before to get involved. We've had some pretty wacky suggestions, but we don’t care what you do – it all goes towards a fantastic cause. If you'd like to raise money for Lifelites by running, jumping or even baking cakes – get in touch!”
The UK Bungee Club provides jumps right across the country. If you would like to jump for Lifelites, please get in touch.
