Today marked the last day of this year’s Lift for Lifelites, and what a fantastic day it was.
Simone began the day in Sussex at the famous Goodwood motor circuit, and although there was no racing for her on the agenda, she did get to ride in a beautiful classic Bentley. But, this wasn’t before she was handed a cheque for an incredible £5,000 – thank you Sussex Freemasons!
The Bentley drove Simone halfway to her next stop where she swapped over to a Ferrari F430 for the rest of the journey and another £100 donation too - Thanks Dave!
The next stop was Brooklands Museum in Surrey, the ‘birthplace of British motorsport and aviation’, where Simone got the opportunity to be photographed next to the museum’s Concorde. She was met by Surrey Freemasons and a choice of not one, but five lifts! She was also presented with donations from the Province and local lodges totalling £1625.
Next up was Twickenham stadium, the home of the England Rugby team. Here she was met Middlesex Freemasons and some more members of the Lifelites team along with her next lift – a fire engine! This took her to board her very last lift, a London Routemaster, which drove her back to Covent Garden.
So, that’s it for another Lift for Lifelites. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who turned out in support of the challenge in any way, you’ve helped us raise an incredible amount to help change the lives of life-limited and disabled children across the British Isles.
