Catherine Livesey, Play Specialist at Claire House told us that the Lifelites package enables independence, building of new relationships, encourages social skills and tends to bring laughter and smiles!
She says: "The head cap is very good for children and young people with poor hand and arm movement, giving them access to everything on the computer without having to ask staff to help them."
Here is some more feedback we have received from staff at Claire House in 2021:
“The new equipment that we have just received is amazing as its all moveable so with the current [pandemic] situation… the children have to base themselves in their bedrooms quite a lot, so it’s nice knowing that we have amazing equipment which can be taken to their room, used and taken back out. All equipment is wipeable which is perfect for infection control purposes!”
“The sensory pod will be used in so mant different ways! We have already started gathering ideas of story sessions in there, massage sessions and even sensory play sessions in there!”
“The tilt table is amazing! This could be used with our children, siblings and families. This [will give] families an opportunity to do fun things together… The way the table tilts is brilliant as a lot of children can only see on certain angles…”
Can you help Lifelites make 2020 a really special year for children in hospices?
