We donated our latest magical technology package to the Durham-based children's hospice in 2018. Since then, we have provided ongoing maintenance and training so everything remains in working order. We know that every second counts for life-limited and disabled children.
At one of our hospice visits, we met Megan, who loved using the Lifelites switches to play with various games and applications on the touchscreen computers. She has very limited movement, but using the Lifelites technology was able to interact with her family and care team in a way that had been impossible before.
Megan's mum said: "Megan loves the interaction with the staff as they play with the various games and programs which stimulate and interest her. Her favourites are the on screen stories because she is able to use the switch to turn the page. This sounds small, but for her it is so empowering and really builds her confidence."
Head of care Alison Appleby said: "We would not be able to provide such stimulating and creative technology without the support of Lifelites. We're so grateful, it makes such a difference to the quality of the time the children spend here."
Would you like to give kids with limited life unlimited possibilities?
We have plenty of opportunities for how you can get involved and help us raise funds so we can continue donating life-changing technology to children with disabilities and life-limited conditions. Have a look!
There are a number of challenge events held across the country which you can apply too to raise money for Lifelites. Please see below to a list of some of the most popular.
We need your help to provide 13 children's hospices across the British Isles with new projects in 2020/21.
We provide our magical technology to children and young people using every children's hospice service across the British Isles. Every four years we provide a brand new package to each hospice, and this year we hope to donate to the hospices listed below.
