The year 2019 marked 20 years of Lifelites, and what a 20 years it's been!
Lifelites was founded as a result of a partnership between the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT) and the Royal Masonic Trust for Boys and Girls (RMTGB, now part of Masonic Charitable Foundation). Together, with expertise from WCIT and £7.5 million of funding from RMTGB, they began to donate desktop computers to children in hospices to celebrate the millenium.
Fast forward six years, and the project became such a success that Lifelites was registered as an independent charity and brought Simone Enefer-Doy the first, and still active, chief executive on board.
With Simone and the team's expertise and enthusiasm, Lifelites has transformed over the years to what it is now - an organisation which donates and maintains a huge range of assistive technology for children in every children's hospice across the British Isles. We support over 10,000 children every year, bringing them magical, life-changing technology which gives them opportunities to do things they never dreamt of, to play, be creative, control something for themselves and communicate, for as long as it is possible.
We have lots of wonderful memories of working with these children, and throughout the year we'll be sharing them, along with lots of pictures we have from the last twenty years, but we'd like to hear your memories too! Have you ever seen Lifelites in action? Get in touch on social media and tell us more. You can message us on Facebook or tweet us.
