Overdress for work day

Every December 'Overdress for Work Day!'  is held in aid of Lifelites.

This year O4WDay! will be held on Friday 2 December 2011.
Here are some details of what to expect: 

‘Tis the season to be jolly
…and silly and daft and raise funds for charity

It’s time to air that ball gown, dust off that penguin suit and get ready for the Lifelites’ charitable ‘Overdress for Work Day’ which will take place on Friday 2 December 2011.  Companies are being encouraged to join in the antics.  It’s the one day of the year where it doesn’t matter what you wear, as long as it is exaggeratedly inappropriate for work.  And what’s more, it’s the ideal way of raising funds for the charity which helps the most disadvantaged children in our communities.

Just imagine, an office full of people in evening dress, dinner suits and ballgowns or cocktail dresses!   Or how about wedding outfits – the chance to dust off those out of date dresses and top hats and tails?  Or perhaps those with unusual hobbies could wear their deep sea diving outfits or beekeeping gear into work for the day.  WARNING – those of a nervous disposition should be aware that their workplace may be invaded by budding Danny la Rue’s who are sure to come out of the closet on an occasion like this. The possibilities are endless!

Different departments may choose to have different themes for their ‘Overdress’ day, and company prizes could be offered for the best outfit.  Those who would like to add to their fundraising efforts may also run the day in conjunction with a raffle. 

It’s very simple to organise and it’ll be a great fun day for everyone concerned and the perfect way to get the team spirit going for the coming festive season.  Companies may even choose to match the funds raised by their staff from the event.

All the funds collected from colleagues for the right to wear their prized outfit can all add up for the Lifelites’ funds to give disadvantaged kids one of the best Christmas presents ever - the power of technology for their learning and enjoyment.

Staff will give a donation of £2 or more for the right to bedazzle their colleagues, and if you would like to donate but not dress up - thats fine too.
